It is highly discouraged to accept any hospitality including gifts, meals, drinks, and accommodation, among others, to preserve professional detachment. Scrupulous practice requires that if at any point the relationship gets personal to the extent that bias is likely to creep in, the journalist reaches out to the Editor-In-Chief.
